Make your mark with Japanense comic art supplies - for ages 15yrs+
So, what is screentone and what on earth do you do with it? Screentone is a low-tack adhesive-backed, transparent sheet of black printed dots. Used by manga artists in Japan (where comics are predominately b&w) screentone represents shading. The size of the dots, the pattern and the distance they are apart from each other gives the optical illusion (at a distance) of differing shades of grey. Extremely easy to use, screentone can be repositioned and peeled from artwork without any form of damage. Once you have your shaded artwork just how you want it, simply rub the screentone into place with a blunt end (such as the 'Tone Hera)'. All of the screentone that we stock comes from Deleter in Japan. It is designed for both the beginner and the professional user. All of our screentone is ready to send from our UK hands to your UK home. We have two basic types of tone, the beginner tone which is a smaller sized set of four sheets of tone which come complete with two practice illustrations to use your tone on. The illustrations vary and mostly feature anime-style characters. The tone sheets measure approximately 182mm x 253mm - this size of screentone is known as the Jr size. We also stock the larger sheets (also sold in sets of 4 sheets but this time without the practice images). The sizes of the larger sheets each measure approximately 255mm x 360mm - these are known as 'full sheet' sizes.
Don't forget to send us a copy of your masterpiece when you're done - we're always happy to spread the love in our dinky blog :)
